NJLA Dine-Around provides a great opportunity to savor the cuisines of one of the area’s favorite restaurants while making new contacts.  Each dinner party will be composed of 8 – 12 conference attendees. The restaurants selected include a range of cuisines and prices.  All venues are within walking distance of Ocean Place Resort.  Links include dinner menu options with sample pricing.  All restaurants are located in Pier Village.

 

Dine-Around guests order from the menu at each restaurant.  You will be responsible for all food and beverage charges, including tax and gratuities. Each diner will receive a separate check.  Door prize giveaway and fun included!  

 

We will be leaving from the Hospitality table located near the conference registration area at 5pm.  Groups and individuals can email Carolyn Wood cwood@westdeptford.lib.nj.us to secure a spot at a favorite restaurant.  Please provide name, address, place of employment and restaurant preference in the body of the email using “2009 NJLA Dine Around” as the subject of the message.  Check http://njla.org/conference/2009/ for additional information.  On the spot sign-up sheets may be available during pre-conference at the Hospitality table at Ocean Place Resort and Spa on

Director, Edison Township Free Public Library     

Judy has worked at the Edison Township Public Library as a children's librarian, reference librarian and branch coordinator.  She is a current member of the NJLA Member Services and Conference Committee and Former chair of the Member Services Committee.  Judy also serves as Board member of Literacy Volunteers of Middlesex. She is a member of Diversity Committee, and Infolink.  She is also a current ALA member.   Judy has a B.A. in English and her favorite bedtime stories are British mysteries.  She enjoys spending time with her family, friends, puppy and loves to travel.  She thinks Librarians are the most interesting people around "because we need to know a little bit about everything".

Prior to working at the Closter Public Library, Laura worked as the Children's Librarian at North Arlington, and as a Children's Room Assistant in Franklin Lakes, and Upper Saddle River.  Laura is a member of the BCCLS Youth Services committee.  Laura has her B.A. in Visual Arts (concentration in Photography) and Urban Studies, has a cat, a dog, a fish, and a fiancee

Director, Nutley Public Library  

JoAnn has worked as the director of the Nutley Public Library for 12 years.  She also has many years of experience as a school media specialist at the elementary and high school levels.  Currently, she is the chairperson of the NJLA Member Services Committee 2007-2008 and served as a committee member 2005-2007. She is a member of ALA and PLA, is serving her second term as a member of the executive board of Infolink, the Eastern New Jersey Regional Library Cooperative.  JoAnn Tropiano is a veteran opinionated director from Nutley PL, school librarian in another life, grandmother, film-goer, quilter and mystery fan.

Amy is the Program Coordinator at The Central Jersey Regional Library Cooperative (CJRLC). Prior to that she worked in reference at the Paterson and Clifton Public Libraries. She is the Vice-President of the NJLA Information Technologies Section, and a member of the Member Services Committee. She tries to blog enough to remain a part of the Library Garden blog.    Amy has a B.A. in Philosophy and likes knitting, technology and reading good old-fashioned paper books (mostly non-fiction) and is just getting into gaming.

Adult Services and Technology Librarian, West Deptford Free Public Library

Carolyn is enjoying her second year as a member of the NJLA Member Services Committee and NJLA IT Section. She is a member of ALA, and served as a 2007 ALA Emerging Leader.  Carolyn is also a member of Beta Phi Mu.  She blogs at NovelIdeas.  Carolyn has a B.A. in Business. She enjoys non-fiction reads, and using tech tools to increase human-computer interaction. There was a time when she cooked, cleaned, sewed and embroidered – though not recently.      

 

If interest warrants, Stewart’s Rootbeer will be added as a low cost addition to the Dine-Around.
